Just north of San Diego is a community designed with everything in mind– San Elijo Hills.
At its heart is the Town center, a convenient and pedestrian-friendly space which provides places to gather, eat, shop and more. A 50,000-square-foot Albertsons with an in-house Sav-On Pharmacy makes it simple to pick up groceries on the way home. Other businesses in the Town center include a gas station, restaurants, dry cleaners, car wash, nail salon, and more.
Conservation is a key aspect to any master-planned community, and San Elijo Hills has devoted more than 1,100 acres to preserving open space. The pedestrian-focused nature of the community is evident in its 18 miles of walking and hiking trails, which provide beautiful views of local flora and fauna. At 19 acres, the San Elijo Hills Community Park features ball fields, soccer fields, playgrounds and a spray-ground water play area. Those with furry family members may want to stop by the bark park, which is located within the community park. This fenced area allows for dogs to run and play off-leash in the great outdoors.
At the highest peak in coastal North County, you’ll find the 250-acre Double Peak Regional Park, which has been dedicated to the City of San Marcos for the public to enjoy. The regional park is home to an outdoor amphitheater, picnic areas, a ranger station, and will offer opportunities for hiking and horseback riding.
As part of the award-winning San Marcos Unified School District, San Elijo Hills is home to San Elijo Elementary School and San Elijo Middle School, both centrally located in the Town center. A third K-8 school is under consideration nearby.
